Warnings have been sent out to parents after an outbreak of pertussis at Paparou Street School on 15/6/16.

There has been 6 cases of pertussis in the school, as mentioned in the email sent to the parents by the principle. Children that are infected with pertussis are recommended to be kept home for 3 weeks if not prescribed antibiotics or after a 5 day course of antibiotics.

Parents are told to make sure their child is up to date with their immunization, along with ensuring they practice good hygiene and cover their mouths when coughing.
